AI Open Source Radar — October 22, 2026

Method: compared happydog-intj/ai-xiaohongshu-daily #584 (GitHub Trending AI morning report, 2026-10-22, 01:00 slot, Top 8) against the previous day’s #581, ranking by stars today. Repos with 40K+ total stars were excluded regardless of growth (stablyai/orca, DietrichGebert/ponytail, Comfy-Org/ComfyUI, headroomlabs-ai/headroom, vllm-project/vllm, supabase/supabase, twentyhq/twenty), leaving just one eligible repo. Trendshift badges could not be verified due to a stale cache (the repo is about a month old, so it is not a long-term chart holder).

A coding-agent skill from Cloudflare that turns any AI coding agent with tool use and parallel sub-agents into a multi-phase security auditor. Its core idea is adversarial validation: isolated agents split the work, and the agent that checks a finding is never the one that found it. The audit runs in six phases:

  1. Reconnaissance: maps architecture, trust boundaries and input surfaces into architecture.md and coverage-ledger.json
  2. Coverage-led hunting: assigns isolated hunters to ledger units, with coverage critics looking for gaps
  3. Candidate validation: a fresh verifier tries to disprove each candidate
  4. Structured output: confirmed, needs_validation and rejected records written to findings.json and validated against a JSON schema
  5. Independent record verification: fresh agents re-check final source claims
  6. Reporting: generates REPORT.md, FINDINGS-DETAIL.md and NEEDS-VALIDATION.md

It ships attack-class guides for memory safety, AI/LLM targets, web protocols and auth, supply chain, cloud, RPC, resource exhaustion, data isolation and desktop/mobile IPC, plus additive multi-run audits that reuse prior ledgers, likelihood-times-impact severity, and a mandatory OS sandbox for running target code. Install takes one line: npx skills add https://github.com/cloudflare/security-audit-skill –skill security-audit. Its daily gain grew versus yesterday, arriving the same day as the AI-discovered PHP2Shell RCE and the LiteLLM supply-chain compromise, as demand to audit one’s own codebase with AI picks up.

Practical takeaway: Run it on internal repos before release and wire the machine-readable findings.json into a CI gate or automatic security tickets to add low-false-positive AI security review to your pipeline.
