1. Anthropic files for its IPO under ticker ANT — and the DOJ appeals the ruling that lifted its federal-agency ban
Anthropic filed its S-1 on October 26. Revenue for the first half of 2026 reached $16.3 billion, more than ten times the $1.2 billion of a year earlier, while the operating loss narrowed from $2.1 billion to $693 million. Seven co-founders will control 50.1% of voting power through a Founder LLC, and the Long-Term Benefit Trust will appoint most of the board, leaving public shareholders with limited practical control. 5. A single malicious AGENTS.md in Downloads can hijack Codex and Claude Code
Forever Security showed that an AGENTS.md file disguised as ordinary engineering notes in a Downloads folder can steer AI coding agents into installing the known-malicious npm package function-color. Codex followed the planted file in more than 90% of attempts, and a Claude Code variant that rerouted the API endpoint succeeded about half the time, leaking an OAuth token. Recommendations: don’t run coding agents from ~/Downloads, audit stray AGENTS.md and CLAUDE.md files, check agent config files, and rotate tokens if anything is found.
